Clinical Home Infusion Pharmacist
We are looking for an innovative, out-of-the-box thinking applicant to fill a full time pharmacist position in an independently owned pharmacy in Anchorage. Our company is a home infusion organization with a team approach to taking care of our patients. As a member of the healthcare team, the infusion pharmacist works closely with the IV infusion nurses, IV Coordinator and IV pharmacy technicians to provide high quality patient focused care. We are a specialty pharmacy that provides home infusion services as well as an in-house infusion suite for patients requiring supervised therapies. There is ample opportunity for professional growth and education in the areas of oncology, treatment of infectious disease, parenteral nutritional support and pain management. The pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC).
This is a team oriented position in a fast-paced, challenging environment providing support to a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals in the community. Experience in IV admixtures using an IV laminar flow hood and a Compounding Aseptic Containment Isolator is preferred but we are willing to train a motivated pharmacist. Home infusion experience is beneficial, but not required. Applicants must have a State of Alaska license, or be in the process of obtaining the license, be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in the English language, and be proficient in data entry and computer usage.
Hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm. On-call pharmacist is available after hours with IV infusion pharmacists sharing rotation for on-call time. Participation in call time is mandatory for this position.

To excel in this role you must possess a degree in Pharmacy (advanced degree preferred) from an accredited College of Pharmacy and Alaska pharmacy licensure; have a skill level typically achieved with 5 or more years of pharmacy experience to include system implementations in areas with multiple application systems; demonstrate knowledge of drug interactions and dosage calculations; have expert-level skill with PC-based productivity tools (spreadsheets, etc.); be familiar with WEB and mainframe-based application development tools and other client server-based applications design; and have effective human relations, communication and analytical skills. Pharmacy Technician II
This position provides technical support in the Ethel Lund Medical Center pharmacy in Juneau under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. The work consists of a variety of complex functions and requires the application of broad based and extensive knowledge of drugs, their uses and the proper practice of pharmacy services. The purpose of this position involves the preparation, review, supply functions, dispensing and control of medications and other pharmaceutical products. The work directly affects the health of our patients. Pharmacy Technican I and trainee positions receive directions from the more experienced and better trained individual in how to perform duties within the department. The Technician II position may have duties in specialized areas such as committee participation, report compilation, or vaccine program coordination.
Basline Qualification Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. Two years of hospital, ambulatory clinic, or retail pharmacy experience or 1 year of experience and successful completion of a formalized pharmacy technician training program (ie. University of Alaska). License to practice in Alaska is required and 10 hours of American College of Pharmacy Education approved continuing education completed annually thereafter. Pharmacy Technician National Certification is required.
Desirable or additional qualifications: Credentialed for parenteral product preparation.
